HANNA SCHÖRKEN (b. 1985) is a singer and improviser, currently based in Essen, Germany. Hanna’s music is influenced by literature and different languages as well as several extended stays in different parts of the world. Living in France, South America, Germany, and the Netherlands gave her the opportunity to discover different cultures and music. She studied Jazz Singing and Musicology and is involved in several projects in the field of improvised and experimental music, especially in Germany and France.
Hanna’s voice shows a great flexibility in range and expressions. On her debut solo album, You Told Me How to Dance (Creative Sources Recordings, 2018), she dives deep into an emotional soundscape of her voice and explores its natural effects and possibilities.

ANDREW DRURY(b. 1964) is a percussionist, composer, improviser, and bandleader who has performed in 30 countries and on 70 recordings and who was recently called “one of the most adventurous drummer/percussionists in creative music today, and a dedicated humanitarian” by All About Jazz. A long-time student of the legendary drummer Ed Blackwell, he leads ensembles of various sizes featuring Ingrid Laubrock, Briggan Krauss, Brandon Seabrook, and others, and works with Jason Kao Hwang, J. D. Parran, Ku-umba Frank Lacy, Robert Dick, Alan Braufman, Cooper-Moore, Aruán Ortiz, Jason Mears, and many more. He has also played with Wadada Leo Smith, Myra Melford, Miya Masaoka, John Tchicai, and Charles Gayle. Andrew hosts the Soup & Sound house concert series which has presented over 125 evenings featuring internationally acclaimed artists and homemade soup in his home in Brooklyn. He has led over 1,000 workshops at a dozen universities in the US and Colombia, in remote villages in Nicaragua and Guatemala, in homeless shelters, soup kitchens, Indian reservations, and many other settings including with Kurdish refugees in Germany. He is also founding director of Continuum Culture & Arts.

Soup & Sound and Different Track Recordings are programs of Continuum Culture & Arts, a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization.
