about

Content Provider presents Andrew Drury as composer/bandleader with a set of deliciously labyrinthine compositions written for a quartet featuring
saxophonists Briggan Krauss and Ingrid Laubrock, guitarist Brandon
Seabrook, and Drury himself on drum set.

"Top Ten CDs of 2015"--Andrey Henkin, NYC Jazz Record

5 Stars (out of 5)
Mike Borella, Avant Music News

“There is no doubt that Andrew Drury is one of most innovative and bold drummers on the modern music scene. (...) Content Provider is an intensely gripping record.”--Hrayr Attarian, All About Jazz

“a dazzler... it’s an urgent, elemental journey through a mercurial landscape, with compelling pulses, zigzag melodies and squalls of John Zorn-like free jazz.”--Paul de Barros, Seattle Times

“Drury's top-notch quartet, featuring saxophonists Briggan Krauss and Ingrid Laubrock and electric guitarist Brandon Seabrook, also extends a thread forward from fellow Brooklynites and '90s downtown jazz scenesters Human Feel. (...) Hurtling from jabbing saxes and rough-hewn guitar to unfettered free jazz and pure sound, Content Provider keeps the unpredictability quotient high, aptly reflecting Andrew Drury's unlimited musical imagination.”--Dave Lynch, All Music Guide

about

Andrew Drury Brooklyn, New York

Andrew Drury's work spans the continuum from primal to refined, tradition to exploration. Working primarily in avant-jazz and free improvisation the former student of Ed Blackwell makes frequent forays into new music, music for dance, multi-media, and combinations of pretty much anything he hears. In addition to drumming and composing he has pioneered several extended techniques for percussion. ... more
